Delete Your Account — A Note for Us
Last updated: 22 July 2026
You can delete your A Note for Us account, and the content that goes with it, at any time from directly inside the app, no email or waiting required.
Delete your account in the app
- Open A Note for Us and go to Settings.
- Open Privacy & data and tap Delete account.
- Choose what happens to your past posts (see below), then confirm.
Deletion takes effect immediately. Your account is removed and you are signed out on the spot.
What happens to your data
Either way, your account is deleted: your email address, sign-in credentials, notification tokens, and Corner memberships are removed. During deletion you choose what happens to the things you posted:
- Keep them — your notes and photos stay in your shared Corners, frozen under your name, as if you had simply left the Corner. The other members keep the journal you built together.
- Remove everything — your posts, photos, videos, voice notes, and the keepsake stamps you authored are removed from your Corners as well.
A Corner in which you are the only member is closed entirely either way.
Retention
When content is removed, the underlying media files are deleted from storage by a server-side clean-up process shortly afterward. Closed Corners are permanently purged after a short grace period. We do not keep copies of deleted content beyond these clean-up windows, apart from short-lived operational backups held by our infrastructure providers, which expire on their standard schedule.
If you can no longer access the app
If you've lost access to your device or can't sign in, email us at contact [at] a-note [dot] app from the email address your account is registered under, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify the request and delete the account for you, and confirm by reply.
